With the site being live to the public for over 2 years now, it seems like a golden opportunity to recap some of the milestone we’ve passed.
The software behind the writing community is now in it’s 3rd version. After a number of major changes to the core of the site. Version 1 brought the basic model to the web. Version to saw a big shack up to the permission system which saw writers able to self-publish or continue to have their written work reviewed before being published. Version 3 saw six new writing formats – short stories, web novels, poetry, how-tos, reviews and recipes. With the new writing formats the site began to feel like a fully-fledged online writing community, catering to a wide spectrum of popular writing styles.
In between all the version releases we’ve constantly been working on new features. At this point in time here’s the round up:
- writing in any genre or on almost any topicĀ (fiction/non-fiction)
- editorial support
- blogging via email
- earn revenue or write with no ads
- feature as a feature writer
- auto-save and revision history for written works
- community image gallery
- ability to add image in the body tezt
- a threaded writer forum
- publish straight to the home page
- ability to add Google Analytics statistic tracking
- and other things I’m sure I’m forgetting
Our main focus for the immediate future is gaining more writers and gaining more feedback. So if you have any requests – let us know!
